Decorators - RULES to PARTICIPATE

  1. Open for all the residents of Second Life to Participate in the Expo​.

  2. Donation to Team SLERS FOR LIFE of Relay for Life of Second Life benefiting American Cancer Society.

  3. You can Book a Tuk-Tuk or Autorickshaw to Decorate for FREE. These will be placed through the regions on the pathway or at the Auto Stands. You can book more than 2 autorickshaws to decorate. 

  4. BYOK to your Plots assigned. Highest funds raised will be calculated based on the total of yours and our kiosk. 

  5. 3 Winners are chosen, based on, Most Funds Raised (BYOK+Our Kiosk); Highest Voted via Website; Most Favored by the Jury. 

  6. Perks of Winning are: Cash, Prizes, Feature in Online Issue of this Magazine & our Media Partners. 

  7. This year we offer 6 possible Landscapes - Mountains, Desert, Plateau, Riverbed, Coastal & Underwater. 

  8. This year each plot will have an entry and an exit. Meaning a person will walk through your plot. 

  9. While decorating, please follow the main theme & the landscape chosen.

  10. Choosing a Landscape is subject to availability at the time of booking. Any changes will be emailed to you. Kindly check your emails. 

  11. Terraforming is not allowed. Adding landscapes to your plot will be counted towards your prims. This excludes the landscape that are placed by us. All landscapes must be in accordance to the theme you have chosen at the time of filling the form. It is non-negotiable. For e.g.: You cant have a huge aquarium in the middle of a desert unless its an oasis. 

  12. Plots will be assigned to all participants (including sponsors) based on first come first serve and landscape chosen basis. 

  13. Sponsors are assigned bigger plots, if they choose to participate in this mega decorating contest, based on the donations. However, you can only avail the landscape that is available at the time of your choosing. 

  14. You can book up to a maximum of 2 plots. This year the standard plot size is 1024sqm. If you book 2 plots, the land size for you increases to 2048. However, there is no guarantee that it will be the same landscape. For e.g.: You can have a Mountain and Desert plot side by side. (We will try our best to give you the desired location subject to availability). 

  15. Each Participant will have 1 week prior to the event to be ready. We are all bound by the Timeline. 

  16. Participants are allowed display boards with their links for prospective client base (individual/brand/team). 

  17. Sponsorship does not guarantee you to be placed near the hot spots. However, your Brand Logo and info will be placed at the hot spots specified with each Sponsorship Perk. You can place direct teleport to your plot from these hotspots. This is only available for Venue, Event Area and Games Sponsors. 

  18. For Mutual Collaboration of other RFL of SL Teams, please contact GiaBlossom Resident (Team Captain/ Organizer). You get a few special privileges.

  19. If you would like to donate to the Prize Pool, please send your prizes to GiaBlossom Resident only. 

  20. Decorator/s must have 1 group space to rez.

Question: Can I have a fountain? What is the script policy there?

Answer - Yes, you can have a fountain. Delete the scripts in the scripted objects unless absolutely necessary. Let's keep LAG to a MINIMUM from our end. The moving trees and grass don't need the script, please delete them. Any rotating objects, texture changing, resizing objects, etc., delete the scripts after you have placed them. No floating text. 

Decorators faq?

Question: Can I get the largest plot?

Answer - Yes! This year You can. You can purchase the Venue Sponsorship.

Question: Can you allot more prims?

Answer - We are on a 30K Full Region. You can purchase 1 more plot of 1024sqm. However, there is no guarantee that it will the same landscape. But it will be beside yours. Yes, it needs to be decorated too according to the respective landscape. 

Question: Can I place privacy screens?

Answer - Privacy Screens are Not allowed. However, you can decorate the borders with trees, hills etc. to make your place secluded. 

Question: Can I have trees hover over the fence?

Answer - Yes, you can have trees but please be mindful of your neighbor. No Privacy screen. Keep it within your boundaries. 

Question: Can I have house in my plot?

Answer - Yes, you can as long as your mindful of 3 things - 1) Must be a pathway with entry and exit, 2) No extra Prims give. 3) Within the boundary. 

Question: Can I build skeletons in my garden?

Answer - Yes, but please make it fun and lighthearted. "Not a Bloody Display." This contest is for a cause. Please be mindful of the people who are survivors, caregivers, have lost someone in the battle. We do not want to hurt anyone's feelings. Keep the builds as if a child in RL can see and enjoy. 

Question: How do I know which plot is mine? Can I rename the parcel? Can I shift to a better plot I like?

Answer - You will be assigned to your plot. You will receive the landmarks on the "Participants" page (password protected. Password will be shared again in group notices, but you have them in the info NC in Pre-planning event Kit.) The land is a whole, undivided. No subdivisions allowed either. The plots are assigned based on: 1) First come first serve basis.  2) Landscape chosen.

Question: I will increase Sponsorships for a bigger area or a better plot. 

Answer - You are welcome to subject to availability.

Question: I want another plot. Can I have more than one?

Answer - Yes, you can purchase up to 2 plots. Landscape is not guarantee. But it will be beside yours. The whole 2048sqm has to be decorated.

Question: Can I have pets? Breedables? Animesh?

Answer - You can have pets as long as they are not moving. Animesh yes. Breedables no. Birds, Butterflies etc. flying a pattern all allowed.

Question: Can I host mini events at my plot?

Answer - No, You need to book the stage area to host any kind of events. It is BYOK (Bring your own kiosk). And you can book it for FREE for 6 hours straight a day.  

Merchants - RULES to PARTICIPATE

  1. ​2026 SLDE brings shopping and welcomes merchants from around the grid. We request you to donate 1 item (product or service to the cause. Kindly put the kiosk to SLERS FOR LIFE TEAM. 

  2. You can donate as many items as you wish to team of your preference too. But, 1 item must be donated to Team SLERS FOR LIFE.

  3. Merchants are welcome to participate for Free at 25 prims stall. 

  4. We will have 4 Sponsorships available for Shopping District. Kindly look into Sponsorship page for the perks that come along with this. 

  5. You can sell things you create or services you provide to customers or businesses. You can also raffle your items (products & services). You can also sell produce (DFS, G&S, MyStory, BeYou, CaringYou, XeoLife etc.) at the Farmers Market. 

  6. Auctions are Not allowed at the Shopping District. You can use the Events Area for your auctions. You can book Events Area up to 6 6hours per day to host auctions. 

  7. There are 4 Kinds of Booths available: - Large Booth (At the Entrance of Shopping District) with 300 prims for 5000L$, Medium Booth with 200 prims for 4000L$, Small Booth with 100 prims for 2000L$, & Kiosk Booth with 50 prims for 1000L$. Please note that these amounts are being donated towards charity.

  8. Booths will be assigned to all participants (including sponsors) based on first come first serve basis. 

  9. Each Merchant will have 1 week prior to the event to be ready. We are all bound by the Timeline. 

  10. All Merchant Logos and Item donated will be published all across the social media, groups and with our media partners.

  11. Traffic at Shopping District will be promoted via games conducted throughout the Expo. 

  12. For Mutual Collaboration of other RFL of SL Teams, Brands & Businesses, please contact GiaBlossom Resident (Team Captain/ Organizer). You get a few special privileges.

  13. Decorator/s must have 1 group space to rez.

Merchants faq?

Q. Can I hold Raffles & Silent Auctions at my shopping booth?

A: You can hold as many Raffles at your shopping booth. However, Auctions or silent auctions are to be held at the Events Area. You can Book the Events Area for Free at the maximum of 6 hours per day during the Expo.

Q. Do I have to get sponsorship to own a booth?

A: Yes, to own a booth you have to purchase the respective sponsorship. Please Note the whole amount will be donated to the American Cancer Society Kiosk for Team SLERS for Life at a designated Kiosk.

Q. How do I know I have been accepted.

A: Please check your email with subject line: "SL Decorators Expo- Merchant Acceptance" from slers.magazine@gmail.com . Make sure to check the spam folder too. If you still haven't received a mail, please contact us. 

Q. Can I donate more than 1 Item to the cause?

A: Yes! 1 Item is required to donate in the kiosk for SLERS For Life Team. Other items can be donated to the teams of your choice or to American Cancer Society directly. 

Q. Can I sell Items, not like donations?

A: Yes, you can sell items as many as your prim count allotted. However, 1 Item must be donated to sell towards Team SLERS for Life ACS Kiosk. 

Q. You keep talking about Items. What are items?

A: Any product or service that you sell as a business (B2B or B2C).

  • You can be a designer, creator of apparel, decor, scripts.

  • You can sell your services for dinner, spa, a stay at a hotel.

  • Rental services of Skyboxes, community houses.

  • You can resell no-copy items from DFS, G&S, MyStory, CaringYou, BeYou, XeoLife or others (in LQ Vendors).

  • You can sell tickets to a Live Show.

  • You can sell AD spaces for your V/Blogs, newspapers, magazines. 

Q. Can I get a better location? Or can I get more prims?

A: All Shopping Booths will be assigned. To get more prims, please purchase the respective booth. Please note that these amounts are being donated towards charity. There are 4 Kinds of Booths available:-

  1. Large Booth (At the Entrance of Shopping District) with 300 prims for 5000L$,

  2. Medium Booth with 200 prims for 4000L$,

  3. Small Booth with 100 prims for 2000L$,

  4. Kiosk Booth with 50 prims for 1000L$.

General Building/Decorating Guidelines

  1. This year we are introducing Shopping. You are welcome to Sell Your Decorative Services at the Shopping District. You can sell apparel, accessories, animations, decor, pets, rental homes, office spaces. Please donate at least 1 KIOSK to TEAM SLERS FR LIFE. You can give Free gifts. (Up to You.)

  2. You can sell your products and services at the booths. The sale of adult furniture is allowed as long as demo furniture is not rezzed and vendor pictures are not explicit. No adult content may be depicted in pictures or demonstration models. If you wish to check any product please ask GiaBlossom for verification.

  3. While using AI creation tools might be inspiring, we ask that you do not sell items at the Expo that are made using AI generated art. We will ask items which contain AI generated art/vendor pictures to be removed from the event.

  4. All content for the SL Decorators Expo must conform to the moderate rating. All decorations must be PG. No Adult Furniture must be rezzed while decorating for the contest. 

  5. To lower lag and improve visitors’ experience, Decorators must minimize script usage (i.e.: NO highly scripted items, NO temp-rezzers). The preference for texture dimensions are 512×512, especially in vendor images. The higher the texture resolution, the longer textures take to rez. It should be borne in mind that these high-res textures have a cumulative effect: each 1024×1024 texture uses four times the memory of a 512×512 texture, which affects load times and frame rates for our visitors. Please keep as many Objects to Phantom to reduce Lag. â€‹

  6. Standard plot size is 1024sqm. Kindly remain within boundaries and be respectful to your neighbors. No Terraforming is allowed. Lands are not subdivided. So, decorators and merchants will share a group space to rez. No privacy screen. 

  7. The Team SLERS FOR LIFE kiosks will be placed at the entrance of each plot. 

  8. Decorators & Merchants are given the opportunity to raffle their decorative services at the Shopping District. You can also donate a product or service to the Prize Pool. This Prize Pool is distributed among the winners of Mega Event, Remote Events & Games. 

  9. If you are participating on behalf of a Team, you can rez your kiosk at the expo. Or we can add your team to our kiosk splitting the donation equally. 

  10. You can put your design service prices, social links, website/blog, landmark etc. (if you have one) on a board, given to you full perm before the event in the Final Kit. This is called “SL Decorators Expo - Socials Board”.

  11. Landmarks to your spot at the SL Decorators Expo will be sent out in the Final Events Pack. 

  12. At your designated Landmark, you will find a locked box with your name as a floating text. 

Rules regarding Intellectual Property

  1. SL Decorators Expo is one of the events of Relay for Life of Second Life. This means that all the rules of RFL and Linden Lab Terms of Service must be followed. Linden Lab has also very clear official Intellectual Property Statement available.

  2. For further DMCA and infringement of Intellectual Property Rights, you can read Fantasy Faire rules. It is very elaborate and easy to understand. We are not that major event; however, we do follow the rules of RFL and SL. 

  3. Should a situation occur, each will be dealt separately.

  4. No refunds will be made.
